Journary to Thai
Getting ingredient


Today went to Golden Mile Complex!

Mission: Get Rice roll wrapper(For the United Dinner)


Heard Some Chefs said " You want Rice paper? Go golden mile lo, there a lot"
Oh really?

So decide to go today to get the ingredient before the dinner start!
Golden Mile in Singapore are so call Xiao thai Guo. small thailand!

So went and find the ingredient. Guess wat i found?





Went in and is like that!! lots lots of people

Charter 3 Make them ur day! Vegetables!

See Tv and u know.. everyday must have 2 serving of Vege!!
2 serving consist =
1 cup cooked leafy vegetables
1/2 cup non-leafy vegetables, cooked
3/4 cup vegetable juice

Eat everyday and keep the doctor away!!! and dun forget the Fruits!

Veg are all round the world, Many many of them, lots of it, Beans, Berries,peas, roots vegetables, Leaf vegetables..... They mostly classified according to their botanical family, such as their edible parts: root, leaf, shoot and stem or bulb.. u name it!! all can be eaten!!
They are grown in many countries all over the world and easily to grow, If i have land and weather in my control! i sure grow it myself... It means! i Grow! I Cook! I Eat!

Anything u like, soup, salad, cook it,mash it...


Vegetables and health
There too many vegetables around, Different Vegetable gives different nutrients, Like Potato give u high statch which a form supply enegry, Sucrose is present in corn, carrot and onion.
Most contain at least 80percent water... keep ur body hydrate!
I percent is Protein for most veg, Some contain more like corn gives 4 percent!
The rest is vitamins ABC~! , Mineral and most important it gives u fibre! which helps in digestion!!

Tips:Never soak in the water too long, cause it is losing its vitamins!


Today i have a recepie, someone ask for it la.. lucky i have done it before,
and is a veg Soup!! and it quite popular in Sg. But i make it a bit Asian!

Minestrone with a bit Tom Yam! Yam Yam
Ingredients(serve 3-4)
Onion(chopped) 60g
Carrot(Diced) 60g
Celery(Diced) 60g
Potato(Diced)60g
Zucchini(Diced) 60g
Garlic(chopped) half teaspoon
White Cabbage(Square shape) 100g
Tom Yam Paste 1 teaspoon
Lemon Grass 1 stalk
Tomato purre(Can)250g
Vegetable or Chicken stock 1 litre
Bay Leaf(herds) 1 pcs
Orengano(herds) pinch
salt and pepper pinch
2 tablespoon Oil

1)In Pot, heat oil, add in onion, garlic, potato and carrot. Cook a while and then add in celery, zucchini and cabbage. cook another 5mins or less. Add in Tom Yam paste and lemon grass.

When u smell the Frangance of Yam Yam!
2)Add in tomato purre, stock and herbs. Bring it to boil.

Sevring Time!! Yum YUm
3)Season salt and pepper to taste.

Note: add in chicken stock then is not vegetian

Chapter 2 Rices warmth your mum`s heart

Rices are eaten by most asian, like us, in Singapore. rice is a MUST!
Do you know there are 7000 varieties of rice arcoss the world. There are two main group of rice which catergorized into long grain and short grain. The ones we eat in Sg is long grain rice.. thai frangrant long grain rice.. Sushi? Glutinous Japanese short grain rice, Nasi Bryan? Basmati long grain rice! Risotto? Risotto short grain rice! MANY MANY RICE!!!

Rice and Health
Carbohydrate is high, which gives us Energy to work and play hard~ 50g uncooked or 150g cooked rice provide us 170 calories!
No fats!! girls like it! my mum will!
Some vitaimin B~
Some minerals zinc and iron
Contains Dietary fibre
Easily to digestible

Best? rice gives energy that last long!! SAF should feed their soldiers more RICE!!!

Rice and food
There are so many many ways to cook rice.
Boiling, stir-fry, deep-fry,steam....
can serve as cold dish, main dish, dessarts!!!

I try and get a recipe for every loving mum~!!

Try it , Own creation!

TomatoRisotto with pepper and mushroom love!
Ingredients (serve 3-4)
2 cups of risotto rice
Mix mushrooms,(eg button M , shitake M , oyster M, eiko M) 200g
Mix Bell Pepper(Green, Red and yellow) 200g
Onion(Chopped) 50g
Garlic(Chopped)15g
Tomato puree 250ml
Stock 250ml
Oregano(herbs) Dried pinch
Salt pinch
Black pepper pinch
Oil 2 teaspoon

1) Heat pot, add oil, Add in garlic and onion, Saute till fragrant, add in mushroom and bell pepper, cook for around 5mins, add rice and cook another 5 mins add a bit stock if needed.

2) Add in tomato puree and oregano, stir for few mins in low heat, and add stock just enough to cover the rice, let the rice cook slowly.

3) rice is cook , serve it hot!

Chapter 1 Men In White! Am i a Chef?

I am a Chef! there are millions of chef out there in the world, including me!!! a small young brat . am i a chef? Yes with hearts! Prepare the nice and great food for people!!

Wearing a White uniform, wearing a white hat, holding a sharp knife , hot pan, making sauce, saute vegetables. We are men in white, Learn as we go.

Today, just started this blog long time ago, but never start any posting till now.. another side of my story,
Story of my jounary to a chef, currently i still a cook, lowest postions, just wan to share experience with others, hope my cooking diaries can be view by lots of wanna be chefs!!!
